A place with high standards – right from the start
Our first project was also our most important: our own studio. From the outset, it was clear that this space should be more than just functional. It should be a place that offers clarity for focused training – while also evoking a feeling of calm, high quality, and well-being upon entering. At the same time, this also meant that the spatial starting point was not ideal. The space had to be fundamentally rethought, planned, and redesigned – every element based on drawings, lighting conditions, and the idea of a consistent sense of space.
From blank plan to design concept
A recommendation from our landlord, brought Böhmler Objekt und Büro to our attention. The very first meeting with project manager Patricia Fröhlich showed that the requirements and style were a good fit – as was the communication on equal terms. Patricia Fröhlich accompanied us throughout the entire project – from the initial concept idea to the selection of materials and final coordination on site. Working closely with us, she developed a holistic concept that we refined iteratively until every detail met our expectations.
Design with intention: colors, materials, and the nervous system
The feeling of space at the New Health Society is the result of conscious design decisions—tailored to function, atmosphere, and the effect on the autonomic nervous system.
Warm beige tones and natural materials in the community area specifically activate the parasympathetic nervous system – the part of the nervous system responsible for relaxation, regeneration, and social openness. These colors have a calming, connecting effect and create a safe environment.
A cool, soft blue runs through the bar area as a design accent – coordinated with the upholstery of our Atlantis equipment. The color scheme of the bar thus creates a subtle connection to the training zone. Blue has a slightly activating effect and symbolizes clarity, structure, and cleanliness – a conscious decision to harmoniously shape the transition from relaxation to performance.
Anthracite in the equipment area provides depth, reduction, and concentration – it does not distract and creates space for focus.
For us, colors were more than just design elements. They are part of an experience space that is intended to bring both the body and the nervous system into harmony.
Harmony in detail – and consistent design
The conscious coordination of colors, materials, and shapes has created a consistent, high-quality sense of space:
Seat shells, bar fronts, and pendant lights use the same color code – everything looks like it belongs together.
- The selection of round, organic furniture reflects our brand identity and picks up on the design language of our logo.
- High-quality brands such as Muuto, Inclass, and Audo Copenhagen have been used discreetly but purposefully.
- In the sanitary areas, Frost Denmark was chosen for its combination of design and function.
Design under dynamic conditions
As our studio was still undergoing renovation at the time of planning, flexibility was essential. Patricia Fröhlich planned based on architectural drawings and responded to every change in the construction process with pragmatism and a sense of the big picture. Joint site visits were essential in order to evaluate materials such as flooring, colors, and surfaces in real light conditions – and to coordinate them again and again.
Collaboration as it should be
The collaboration with Böhmler Objekt und Büro and Patricia Fröhlich was characterized by professional excellence, clear communication, and fast implementation. Every choice was justified, every decision tailored to us and our identity. There was always room for discussion, correction, and joint brainstorming.
Conclusion: Space becomes attitude
Today, our studio is more than just a place to train – it is a space that reflects our philosophy. A well-thought-out interplay of form, color, and function – with a noticeable effect on body and mind.
We would like to thank Patricia Fröhlich and the entire team at Böhmler Objekt und Büro for an exceptional collaboration, both in terms of design and on a personal level.
